My professional methodology for a standard translation project is
I read the text in its entirety, multiple times if necessary, and Make sure that I understand what the text conveys, and what its core meaning is.
I do some extra research because it can help me understand the document or the target audience better.
I Asses my first draft because I have to make sure that the translation is understandable on its own, without the source document.
I have someone who reviews the finished product because it is a crucial step, someone else can catch mistakes that I didn’t. And if I can’t find a colleague to review my document for me, I will review it at least one day after I finished it.
