Consider the display location of the strings, the software’s functionality and the user’s intended actions to adjust the expression accordingly.
Optimize and balance various factors, such as users’ recognition speed of strings at different levels of software proficiency, the accuracy (unambiguity) of operation descriptions for different users, translation aspects that the developer wants for the software, the size of the display space, the aesthetic layout considerations and the accuracy and reusability of translated strings for future software updates.
When necessary, discuss the overall translation approach and the translation of specific strings with the developer, especially if it may be necessary to rewrite the text literally.
Understand the developer’s vision for the software to establish a profound understanding of the translation’s impact.
