My experience in gaming is really diverse. Up to this date, I have localized
a point-and-click adventure for PS4
a sandbox game and an adventure game on Steam
several online casino games such as poker variations (Texas Hold’Em, Omaha, Video Poker, 3-card Poker, Teen Patti), Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat, and numerous video slots
plenty of mobile games
On top of that, I am an avid RPG gamer (turn-based, action, MMO), having played games of other genres as well.
Choosing me for your project means hiring a detailed-oriented, problem-solving and lifelong-learning freelancer. Translation, localization, proofreading, search engine optimization (SEO), transcription, captioning, subtitle translation, tutoring, copy-writing — a non-exhaustive list of services I have been providing since embarking on my career.
And a little interesting extra: my love for terminology and biodiversity has given birth to a quite extraordinary and unique passion within me: researching the Greek binomial nomenclature. The ultimate goal of this is a secret to be revealed in the distant future.
This is how I solved a recent terminology, style, or linguistic challenge
Six years ago, I was tested to begin working with an agency on game localization projects. That test back then was meant to be the decisive factor for one of my most fruitful collaborations to date.
I had to translate puns, wordplays, and rhyming text with strict text character limits (graphical text inside speech bubbles or store signs, etc.), as well as sophisticated and code-rich user-interface content.
I thrived to an extent that the test’s reviewer commented on the fact that it was the best test he had seen for that content in specific.
If this piqued your interest, it will be my pleasure to fill you in on the details!

This is how I solved a recent recent technical challenge on a translation project
Three years ago, I was assigned the Greek translation and localization part of a leading air ticket corporation’s products (website, apps, communication content, etc.).
There was an instance I had to translate/transliterate a huge list of uncommon but visit-worthy destinations all across the world.
I dealt with this in a quality-assuring method. I first researched if there was a widely used Greek equivalent for the location in question and then, consulted native people’s pronunciations through several means to ensure that once a Greek decided to visit the place, they would ask a native for instructions in a language the latter understands.
This entailed a huge amount of research, and I am particularly proud of finding such an effective way to translate proper names that had not been translated before.

Two years ago, I finished the English>Greek subtitle translation part of a documentary about a pioneering technology for producing drinkable water, which is going to be revealed in the near future.
The amount of research I had to make was really unprecedented.
A term puzzled me: the process of flashing a toilet. In Greek, we have one way to say this—a too lengthy and inappropriate one to use. I did find a workaround, but what’s interesting is that I managed to find another term on an old Greek monolingual technical encyclopedia I had from the 70’s. It was incomprehensible by the typical Greek viewer, so I didn’t use it, but it was nowhere to be found on the web!
This is quite representative of how rich my resources are and what lengths I am eager to achieve in order to provide high quality.

Vasilis was involved in the translation process of our air travel content, he always tried to understand the whole context of the translations as much as possible. I highly recommend him as the translator.
I hired Vasilis for our website’s translation. I have worked with him for more than 6 years. Vasilis is an exceptional professional translator, reliable, well-organised, intelligent, polite, personable, and easy to work with. He responded promptly to deadlines and kept calm and efficient under pressure. He grasps new concepts quickly and accepts constructive criticism and instruction concerning his work. Vasilis proved to be a valuable partner for us. He has my highest recommendation!
Vasilis delivered his proofreading service on time and showed expertise, professionalism, as well as knowledge of CAT and localization tools, HTML, and high proficiency in English for his proofreading of our vision therapy app (with games). The price for his work was fair for the level of quality he provided, and he was very kind in his interactions with us. Would definitely hire again.
Vasilis translated our award-winning chef’s cookery book from Greek to UK English. Working with him was totally a pleasure. He asked questions, met deadlines, and provided a great result, making sure each and every detail is correctly conveyed and adapted into UK English. Communication between us was also hassle-free. I totally recommend him
I hired Vasilis to work as a Greek-to-English translator for a documentary film I directed in Athens, Greece. During this time, he acted as our in-field translator as well as our translator throughout the whole post-production process (subtitles, documents, research). He is highly reliable, competent, and most importantly, genuinely impassioned by what he does. If you are looking for a translator with a strong work ethic and high level of adaptability, then I cannot recommend Vasilis enough.
I have worked with Vasilis on plenty of projects. His professional support has been valuable beyond words. Vasilis’s attitude, work ethic, and proficiency lead to outcomes no collaborator would want to miss. I would highly recommend him, as his dedication to perfection ensures optimal results.
