About Me

I’ve got passion for words, for reading, for language and for communication. There’s nothing I love more than sinking my teeth into a text and conveying its ideas to a whole new audience. That’s what I bring to every project I work on.

When clients request literal translations, this is how I handle the situation

Literal translations aren’t always the best option, (though in some cases they may be); however, for many reasons, some clients often request this. Of course, understanding the target audience is a balancing act between the translator and the client: as a translator, I have a better idea of the mindset of people who consume English-language media, while the client generally has closer ties to their own customers or audience. When this occurs, I always provide the client with solid reasons for a less literal and more natural translation, explaining how it can affect the flow of a text, how a reader will perceive the information and any misunderstandings that could be caused.
