About Me

I’m a language professional specialising in Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish, with over 4 years of experience in the translation and localisation industry and 10+ years in language teaching.

As a translator, my main goal is to produce accurate, well-written and culturally appropriate translations, as well as developing long-term partnerships with clients. When it comes to teaching, I’m interested in helping motivated professionals who are looking to improve their language skills in Brazilian Portuguese or Spanish.

My university background includes 8 years studying Languages, with an emphasis on Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and literature. During my studies, I volunteered as a Professor’s Assistant for one year and worked as a researcher of Brazilian literature. Additionally, and was awarded scholarships to teach English and Spanish as additional languages.

This is how I solved a recent terminology, style, or linguistic challenge

One of my main clients in the EdTech space often uses specific terms to describe their products and solutions. However, a literal translation of these terms wouldn’t sound as good in the target language, which is Brazilian Portuguese.
To achieve better results, I provided my client with different transcreation options, explaining their meaning and impact for Brazilian Portuguese speaking users.
After deciding about the appropriate terminology, the terms and solutions I presented were added to my client’s glossary and shared with the entire translation team.
