Czech translator with a lifelong passion for linguistics, translation, phonetics and literature.
I have spent several years in an English-speaking country, but have been exposed to English since early childhood. Such an early exposure has had a profound impact on my English proficiency and second language acquisition later became the main area of my interest as a student.
In 2014, I graduated from Palacky University in Olomouc where I attained a bachelor’s degree in English Philology. I also own two Cambridge certificates (FCE and CAE) and a TEFL certificate.
I have taught and translated English for various language agencies in the Czech Republic and later on embarked on my own path of a freelance translator.
My main areas of expertise are the following:
→ User Guides & Manuals
→ IT & technical translation
→ iOS & Android App Localisation
→ Product Marketing & Transcreation
→ Blog Articles
I thoroughly enjoy being a translator and my work is ample proof of this greatest passion of mine.
This is how I solved a recent terminology, style, or linguistic challenge
In the recent past, when I was facing the challenge in the form of a complex technical translation project, I decided to gain a complete grasp of the subject in question and did all took to get a hands-on experience with the machinery in order to understand its workings.
