Native Portuguese (PT) speaker in Lisbon, Portugal
"Translator (1988) | Subtitler (2012)"
To this date, I have translated almost 750 hours of audiovisual content (fiction and nonfiction), in a total of around 650 000 subtitles, for several clients — from streaming giants and renowned TV channels to niche film festivals and business enterprises.
I am a freelance translator and subtitler, born and based in Lisbon (Portugal), working since 1988 with the publishing, digital, and audiovisual industries (for references, please check my website or my LinkedIn profile).
I strive to continuously improve and broaden my knowledge and skills, so that I can provide my clients with high-quality work, always delivered on time, and with the utmost attention to detail.
In a moment where we are increasingly becoming global citizens, there are still many gaps to be bridged in terms of language, so that content is made available to international markets. And that is precisely what I can help you achieve: reach out to the native speakers of the seventh most spoken language in the world — mine.

As a writer in my native language, this is how I would describe my style
As faithful as possible to the vocabulary and style used by the English or French author, without being literal and using creativity whenever necessary, so that the translated text sounds just as if it was originally written in Portuguese.
