Hello! My name is Patricia and I am a Native Brazilian Portuguese speaker fluent in English. I have been working in the translation and transcription industries for the past five years, though I am new to the Zing platform. As a writer in my native language, this is how I would describe my style

I am always very careful when it comes to translating into Brazilian Portuguese, since it is a language that differs a lot from the written type to the spoken type. For this reason, I always try to adapt the source text so it better fits the context - while still aiming to maintain the intended meaning. This allows me to avoid common mistakes made by Brazilian translators, such as using expressions which are grammatically correct but do not fit into the actual use of the language nowadays.

My modus operandi for communicating with clients is

Always making sure I’ve got every information necessary to start working. I like to keep in touch with the client while translating to guarantee everything is going as they planned. For this reason, I’m always careful enough to ask what they are thinking about the project and if they have any suggestions/criticism. It is very important to be open minded and communicative.
