I have a background in Music and Languages, having graduated from Cambridge University in French and Spanish and then the Royal Academy of Music in oboe performance. I have lived in many countries around the world including Ecuador, Paraguay, Morocco and Madagascar as a volunteer on various projects. I am passionate about the arts, pedagogy and social development, and have spent the last 10 years working as a musician, teacher, translator, researcher and proofreader.
As a writer in my native language, this is how I would describe my style
Clear and concise. I write to convey meaning as clearly as possible, whilst respecting the beauty of the language I am writing in.
This is how I continue my learning in my area of expertise
I continually read around my subject areas, and participate in courses to keep my language skills up to scratch. I also attend lectures and talks on the process of translation itself and developments in the industry.
I refuse to work with clients who
I do not work with clients who undervalue the work of a translator.
