As a former press agent in the publishing and cultural fields, translation became an obvious choice after my expatriation to the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Reconverted as a freelance translator, I have moved forward from website translation and then literary translation, in addition to content writing and blog transcreation work for my direct clients. I also worked for translation agencies with formatted work requirements and strict deadlines, which allowed me to diversify my work methods.
In 2022, I had the opportunity to translate two books in the field of esotericism from English to French for an independent publisher. Both books are expected to be published in 2023.
Writing in its many forms is the raison d’être of Scryptorium in the service of culture, communication, art, spirituality, and personal development.
In order to meet my client’s preferences, I translate “the old-fashioned way” but I also use computer-assisted translation tools (SDL Trados, Cafe Tran, Smartcat…) which guarantee accuracy and reliability. The choice of one translation method over another is determined by the client’s wish and the nature of the document to be translated. Services offered: content writing, literary translation, transcreation, website localization, and writing of press kits and releases.
This is what motivates me to do my best work
Translation and writing are filled with passion when the mind gloats because it knows its stuff. The scribe’s eloquence is stimulated by his interest in the subject. The drawers of the memory where correlations, precise terms, and references are hidden, open under the effect of a familiar call and come naturally to enrich the prose.
When you know something well, it’s as if you own it and you are ready to defend it tooth and nail. And it is for all these reasons that my writing is at its best when I work in my favorite fields of expertise.
