About Me

Hi there! I am Myriam, a French translator living in Ireland for the past number of years.

I initially studied languages in France (LEA - English and German) and shortly after my degree, left for Ireland where I pursued a career mainly focused on sales and training administration. I had always loved translating and in 2020, I took a professional course in Translation, and subsequently sat the DipTrans from the Chartered Institute of Linguists (elective texts in Science and Technology) in early 2023.

Today I translate various types of content, such as:

Business correspondence such as internal communications, corporate documents (i.e. tender documents, general legal content)
Subtitles for educational videos, short or feature films
Press articles and non-fiction
General science and technology content
Public sector

This is how I continue my learning in my area of expertise

I attend webinars, courses and keep updated on latest translation industry developments through peer advice on social media and dedicated channels. I liaise with other translators through networking events and regular contact. I try to learn new tools to speed up my workflow and internal processes as often as possible.

This is what motivates me to do my best work

Interesting projects, fair pay, transparent communication, a clear framework and set of expectations, mutual trust. I love the feeling of pride that comes from a job well done where both client and translator are satisfied with the outcome.
