I want to breakdown the language barrier and help spread the amazing stories and interesting information that comes from the Japan to the rest of the English-speaking world!
Fiction or Nonfiction, anything will do!
I have experience translating:
- Restaurant menus
- News articles
- Literary fiction (novels & manga)
- Content reviews
I have a minor in Japanese from Purdue University after studying the language for 4 years. Planning on taking language tests soon!
I give every project my absolute best to ensure the client & the original author(s) can be satisfied and proud of the work. Here are somethings you can expect from me:
- Professional, but friendly communications. Every project is a team effort, and great communication goes a long way,
- Open to criticism. Nothing will be perfect on the first try, so I try to turn whatever feedback given into a final draft everyone is satisfied with.
- Meeting deadlines. I understand what it’s like to be waiting on someone to finish their part of a project, so I do my best to finish the work as soon as possible.
This is how I continue my learning in my area of expertise
I try to read or watch some media in my source language (Japanese) every week, if not every day, and look up any unfamiliar words.
I treat Japanese just like English— if I don’t know a word or phrase, then I look up a definition and context.
