About Me

Accredited and experienced Portuguese->English translator and Engineer

I am British with a Diploma in Translation and am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (IoL). My entry on the IoL website is at: http://www.ciol.org.uk/translator/profile/32047/36/2491

I also translate into US English.

I have degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (BSc/MEng) from the University of Bath. I have been studying Portuguese since 1998 and have spent extended periods in Brazil after marrying a Brazilian in 2001. I am also experienced in translating European and African Portuguese. I have been working as a Portuguese to English translator since 2007.

I am also qualified as a proofreader and editor, certified in Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) and trained in subtitling and closed captions.
