I bring a strong academic and professional background in bilingual communication and tons of translation experience.

I hold a Master’s degree in Art Sciences from the University of Ghent, with part of my studies at UC Berkeley. Throughout these years I conducted countless researches with a triple-thesis as piece de resistance. This series of investigations was executed in collaboration with embassies and renowned art galleries in New York, Beijing, and Mexico City. Many of these researches were translated and/or contained interviews that were translated. My academic excellence was recognized with Great and Greatest Honors from the respective universities.

Furthermore I have work experience in high demanding English-centric environments, such as the international gallery scene of Mexico City and the prestigious Christie’s auction houses in Brussels. These experiences provide a further indication of my grasp on the English language .

Lastly, with my experience as a freelance art marketing manager and consultant I bring one final strength to this position. In the role I have amassed extensive experience writing translations for clients’ video content.More so I would like to highlight my ability to translate “art English” or “art Dutch” as a final indication of my talent for language with both Dutch and English. There is a big difference between translating a random conversation and your average within the art world situated subject which demands a much deeper and less direct connection the language.

What sets me apart is my ability to produce translations that go beyond being factually correct. With a special connection to Dutch as my native language and deeply multi-faceted developed expertise in English, I bridge the gap between literal translations and those that feel natural to the target audience. Whether translating straightforward material or deeply philosophical and esoteric texts and everything in between I ensure the tone and flow are authentically Dutch.
