This is what motivates me to do my best work

Many years ago, I read my first novel by a Japanese author. It was such a different story from what I was used to, such a different culture. I was fascinated.

And suddenly, it hit me: I would have never been able to read that book (and so many others, after that one), if it wasn’t for the amazing work of a translator.

This is what motivates me: to help other people have access to a world they would not know otherwise.
