Most of my previous work has been about subtitles for social media, movies or video games. Also a big fan of translating books!
-I am currently studying Technical and Scientific Translation at college, so I also translate technical and scientific documents.

When clients request literal translations, this is how I handle the situation

I explain to the client why literal translation may not be adequate all the time in translations and discuss what type of translation my client is looking for. If they still want a literal translation, I will fulfill my client’s whishes, but I will keep in touch to discuss parts where I believe the literal translation is not the best option.

My modus operandi for communicating with clients is

I ask what type of audience the translation is directed to, and if they have any special requests. While I am translating, I keep in touch with my client to check for terminology and to keep them updated.
