"Attention to detail guaranteed."
I have been an academic editor, proofreader and project manager of academic texts in the Humanities & Social Sciences for eight years, editing books in subject areas such as art, architecture, literature, music, religious studies and more for publishers including Cambridge University Press, so making academic prose sing is what I do best. Applying this experience to translation means I can convey your argument in language that reads like a well-crafted Anglophone original.
I’m an eagle-eyed translator, editor and proofreader specialising in literary and H&SS academic texts from all corners of the Francophone sphere.
Experience
I have eight years of experience as an editor, proofreader and project manager in and for prestigious academic publishing houses such as Cambridge University Press. During the pandemic I decided to invest in my dream of working as a full-time translator and completed my MA in Translation & Interpreting Studies at the University of Manchester, in which I received a distinction and the Top Student Award.
Translation is now a key pillar of my freelance business and I’m able to draw on my years in publishing to bring editorial expertise, copy-crafting skills and a sharp eye for detail to my translations.
My fees are negotiable and discounts are offered for book-length projects so don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Francophone Varieties
I have experience working with Francophone texts from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, North Africa, Cambodia and Vietnam and have developed excellent research skills when it comes to identifying and transferring culturally specific items and references.
