The reason why I am a translator

I have always been obsessed with words, people, and colours, and the different ways they combine to create stories:

• pink stories of crafters that sell their patterns all around the world;
• gray stories of refugees looking for a new place to call home;
• multicolored stories of children that live a thousand lives as readers.
  I became a translator to spread the word about them.

The reason why I am a professional translator

As every professional should do, especially freelance, I have been mixing theory and practice all my adult life, to deepen my areas of specialization.

After earning a BA in Language and Cultural Mediation, I started an MA in Intercultural Competencies, and continued working at a bookshop.

A year later, I went to India for a few months and taught English language to children.

I had enjoyed so much my traineeship with refugees that I got a certificate to teach Italian to foreigners.

My experience in Tourism lasted for one year and a half, while the one with teaching has not yet come to and end.

Translation and CPD (you can find a list of the courses I have attended in the Education section) have accompanied me through all these career changes, until I became a full time translator in 2019.
