Short description

I am an aspiring bilingual translator looking forward to gain more professional experience. As a volunteer I have already translated a large amount of words on platforms like Translators without Borders. I also work on Unbabel and am rated 4.2 out of 5 there.

I’m determined to deliver high quality translations, and therefore not afraid to spend extra time if I have to polish the results.

Why I specialize in Software localization

My hobby is to write code and create software that either automates tedious tasks or for other purposes. I write UI elements and documentation in both English and German, so I have collected a good amount of experience on the way already.

This is how I continue my learning in my area of expertise

I already was considered bilingual back when I started translating and localizing. Therefore, I did not want to go and get further education, because I thought I could use this time more efficiently.

That’s why I started volunteering for some agencies like Translators without Borders to gain experience. And this is exactly how I continue learning: I just work at many different places, and try to get as much valuable experience as I can. This is why working here is such a great opportunity for me.

This is how I solved a recent terminology, style, or linguistic challenge

From my software developing hobby, I acquired the skill to google almost everything when there’s a problem. I also used this skill for solving a recent challenge I’ve come across. I don’t have to waste much time and can perform the search quickly and reliably.

This is what motivates me to do my best work

The main factor that provides me with motivation is the constant gain of experience with every new client. This helps me get more clients, so I can learn even more. This cycle makes me optimistic for my future, so I will try my best to keep it going and to satisfy all my clients.
