"Flexible, accurate translations suited to your needs!"
I am an avid reader and writer in both English and Korean, regularly writing my own novels and short stories. My graduation project from the Korean language programme I took was to write a short story in Korean. I have been working as a literary translator for German-English children’s book translations for sixth months and am currently taking university classes on Korean->English and German->Korean literary translation.
I am in my final year of a BA Korean degree, with a focus on literature and history. I have spent the past year working largely on subtitling and translation in the arts and humanities. I also lived in Germany and Switzerland for 10 years.

I have translated market research and other non-specialised content for over a year for various companies. Industries have included manufacturing, technology, marketing and more.
This is how I solved a recent terminology, style, or linguistic challenge
In a children’s fantasy book I translated recently, there were many made up words such as the names of games, as well as names of characters that had a meaning. I created new words English that would be easy to understand whilst maintaining the feel of the made up words in the original language, and also translated the names into English in a way that incorporated the meaning but still sounded like a name.
Keira translated a children’s book for me. This was partly a challenge, for example because some passages contained specially-coined vocabulary. Keira paid attention to detail and proved to be very cooperative. She took my comments into account and edited the text thoroughly, always looking for the best words and expressions, polishing the style and also keeping the recipients in mind. I can therefore recommend her as a translator.
