An unusual combination of industrial Life Sciences experience combined with localization experience. I am growing my offerings beyond nitty gritty wordsmith into using my expertise to help companies in that vertical with their localization needs.
Since 2005 I have been translating and editing chemistry and related scientific and technical texts, including intellectual property. I work most often in the areas of pharmaceutical and cosmetic chemistry, especially CMC, but I have a broad understanding from clinical trials and medical devices to bulk chemicals. I also edit scientific publications prior to submission, especially when their authors are not native English speakers.
From the early years, someone senior to me said “Karen’s work was consistent and thorough. She has a natural ability to organize projects and follow them through.”
Some things don’t change. Others do: “Karen oozes enthusiasm and confidence and successfully transmits these qualities.” “At translation conferences, I always look out for Karen’s name (it’s fairly easy to spot) on the programme) as she is a brilliant and engaging speaker who knows her subject inside out. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with her on translation projects. Highly recommended!”
I have translation credentials for French into English translation into both UK and US English: I am a Fellow of the ITI (FITI) and ATA-certified from French into English.
