I have a master’s degree in interpreting, but I am also a video game translator!
I wrote a thesis on the subject
I love video games and the idea of making them available to fellow French-speakers
What to expect
Your game needs to be translated? I can help! Here are my engagements:
You will receive a localization into French, my native language, that is precise and idiomatic.
The characters will retain their personalities. Goofy? Serious? Dark? Bon vivant? It’s in the bag!
The menus’ terminology will feel natural.
The player will not feel lost and abandon your game because of a bad translation.
Like any translator, there are specific themes that are dear to my heart and that I feel more comfortable with
I know how to use inclusive language in French, and I love such projects. I am particularly at ease with LGBTQI+ content. I love translating poems! I actually had to translate 3 for the Russian game I talked about earlier. They feel like challenges I need to overcome.
What motivates me the most is to know that my translations will allow other people to fully enjoy great games that will keep them hooked for at least some time. Some of them will fall in love with the games, just like I fell in love with Outer Wilds. They will remember their favorite game fondly as they grow up, and I will have participated in that joy that they feel when their mind goes back to those times when they were discovering a great game.
Then, there is challenge. I love putting my skills to the test. Overcoming new difficulties and learning everything I can in the process!
