Native Italian (IT) speaker in Reggio Emilia, Italy
"Gotta loc 'em all"
I can handle most of the file formats for game loc. I can handle variables, neutral gender language, cultural issues, and will of course tell you if I find something unclear in your game.
Hi there! Looking for an Italian translation? Review? You want to be sure your text is great before using it, right?
This is your stop—look no further! I translate and review websites, software, apps, and video games, as well as texts on psychology and tourism from English and Spanish into Italian. I also translate and review CVs from and into Italian.
What services do I offer?
TRANSLATION/LOCALIZATION: I will take every sentence and render it optimally in my mother tongue. I will choose the right translation technique for the text type and make it sound as if it had been originally written in Italian. REVIEW/PROOFREADING/EDITING/POST-EDITING: I will put your text under the microscope. If there is a typo or grammar mistake, I will find it. If there is a mistranslation, I will uncover it. If there is a stylistic error, I will redraft it. Whether it was translated by a person or a machine, Jessica will put that text back in line.
What do I guarantee?
Professionalism and quality: Key elements of any translation service. Attention to detail: If there’s something that doesn’t work in the original text, I will let you know. Confidentiality: Unless you authorize it, you will never see me advertising that I have worked with you. My clients’ privacy is everything to me.
I’m the person you’re looking for. Want some samples? I can share my portfolio upon request.
My professional methodology for a standard translation project is
Depending on the type of text, I ask specific questions to the client. Here are some questions I ask before starting a translation:
Whenever I’m reviewing or translating a CV, I ask the client where they want to look for their job, their nationality, and whether they are looking for a specific job or are open for a wide range of positions.
Whenever I translate a video game, I ask for things like character limitations, the file format, the personality of the characters, and whether there is some text in the file that may look like text to be translated but it’s actually part of the code and therefore shall not be touched.
Whenever I translate a touristic text, I ask where it will be used (online or printed), if they already have something translated into Italian –so that I can maintain the style– and if they have a particular target audience they want to address.
This is how I manage terminology consistency in my area of expertise
I use CAT tools (translation software) that warn me whenever I use a different term than the one I previously saved in the glossary list. This is how I keep consistency throughout the whole text.
I had the pleasure to work with Jessica at Different Way Games on localizing the Trash Invasion game to Italian. I was impressed by her professionalism, energetic way of working and communication skills. With minimal to almost no instructions from my side, she was confident to deliver high quality results. She went way and beyond the tasks given and provided valuable suggestions and improvements.
I highly recommend her as a localization specialist for gaming and other projects.
Jessica is a great professional. I have given her my old, ugly curriculum and she completely renewed it. She did an amazing job and I couldn’t recommend her more. If you want something written in a perfect Italian, she is the right person for you.
I asked Jessica to check my updated CV in Italian and I couldn’t be happier about it. She did a thorough job by spotting any mistakes, unnecessary details and potential reasons for misunderstanding. What’s more, she gave me many valuable tips on how to structure information as clearly and orderly as possible. If you need a truly professional CV review, I definitely recommend reaching out to Jessica!
