"Quality French to English translation (and vice versa)!"
I have written many of my own works of fiction in French and in English, and often read literary and creative works. I have translated a large number of novels, largely informally but more recently professionally, due to a desire to share works I enjoy with people who are not bilingual and cannot read the original.
French to English (and English to French) Translation
I am bilingual in French and English, and growing up I was always very irritated by the low quality of translation for shows or games which were originally written in English. I have also often been frustrated by the English translation of works I have read in their original French. Over time I developed a passion for translation!

Localisation and Jokes
Something that’s very important to me in my translation is making sure that a translation is not just accurate in terms of the precise wording, but also in meaning. For jokes or comments that rely on wordplay or concepts that only exist in either French or English, I will make sure to preserve the meaning by finding a similar concept in the target language and will give you notes explaining the changes and the reasons for them!
This is how I solved a recent terminology, style, or linguistic challenge
I recently translated a segment of text for a business which included several instances of alliteration. This alliteration was important to the branding and the product being advertised, so when translating from French into English I found a way to keep alliteration in parts of the text whilst preserving meaning.
