My name is Ivaylo Ivanov and I’m an English to Bulgarian freelance translator.

I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in English Language and Literature and specialization in Translation and I’ve been working as a full-time translator for more than 22 years and gained considerable experience in translation, localization and transcreation projects. Along with the translation of technical, business and marketing texts, I specialized in localization of software, websites and apps as well as different technical materials – mainly IT literature, manuals and user guides for electronic devices, cellular phones, household appliances, etc.

In the recent years, I’ve been working exclusively on localization projects, covering UI/UX and marketing content for desktop software (both operating systems and applications), mobile apps as well as websites and web platforms/apps, and have an extensive experience with various content from end-clients such as Airbnb, Microsoft, Apple, Skyscanner, Patreon, Twitter, Facebook, Sony Mobile, Vodafone, Adobe, Toshiba, Panasonic, Nvidia, Western Union, Canva, etc. working either as a translator, editor, independent QA reviewer or terminologist.

Currently, I work on high-profile localization projects as a Language Lead and QA reviewer, supervising small teams of Bulgarian linguists (ranging from 10 but reaching up to 60 depending on the workload and timeframes) and being responsible for the quality of Bulgarian locale, its terminology, style guide and branding.

Throughout the years I have gained extensive experience of the most popular CAT and localization software, including Trados Studio, Passolo, MemoQ, Catalyst, Idiom, DejaVu, Memsource, Matecat, Smartling, Crowdin, etc. and some proprietary (e.g. LocStudio, Chopin) or online tools.

For my work I use both Windows and MacOS computers, depending on the project or client requirements.
