I’m a curious bookworm: As a linguist, I enjoy reading and doing research about my areas of expertise in order to develop my personal library of resources.
Ongoing training: The seminars I take include, but are not limited to, environment and sustainability, journalistic translation, linguistic issues like inclusive language, discourse analysis.
Thrustworthy relationships: With clients, professionals of other areas and people who inspire and innovate.
My professional methodology for a standard translation project is
1° Read and evaluate the document thoroughly for two main purposes:
a. in case some issue pops up and I need to ask the client for clarification.
b. to identify unknown key terms or expressions and look for them in the correct sources and visualize the tone, sentence structures and style of the particular document.
2° Setting a words goal and working methodology, including: .Establishing the amount of words that I could translate in X amount of hours.
.Organizing linguistic resources, glossaries. term bases, do online research and compile necessary information.
3° Start the first translation (what I call the base translation).
