I’m French-English translator
I have an MA in Translation (University of Bristol) and a BA in French with proficiency in Spanish (University of Exeter) and spent the first 8 years of my career working as a Translation Project Manager.
I specialise in
- Marketing/creative texts
- Business documents, communications, press releases
- Blogs and social media posts
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- British English localisation/adaptation
Reasons to work with me
I’m friendly and professional. I collaborate with clients to translate their message and style into my native language (British English).
I take great care in showing attention to detail, researching, and ensuring that the end result has been localised to fit the target culture.
As a writer in my native language, this is how I would describe my style
Well researched, creative, unpretentious, approachable.
My professional methodology for a standard translation project is
Research, read through, research, draft translation, sleep on it, finish translation, have a cup of tea, read through, have another cup of tea, final proofread.
This is how I manage terminology consistency in my area of expertise
Use client’s termbase/glossary, look up key terms before I start translating, use a QA checker on my CAT tool for consistency.
When clients request literal translations, this is how I handle the situation
Give them a literal translation, after talking it through with them to make sure that’s definitely what they need.
This is how I would describe my work style
Raring to go! Happy to communicate and collaborate as much as desired, but also fine left to my own devices.
I refuse to work with clients who
This is what motivates me to do my best work
Helping people communicate, bridging cultural gaps, and solving interesting translation issues.
I love working with such a huge variety of people, and the freedom of freelancing!
