My professional methodology for a standard translation project is

Communication is key!

Before starting any project and to anticipate any problem, I review the source text and ask for any reference files/glossaries/desired brand tone, etc.
I have learnt that no question is a silly question and if anything is unclear, fear not, I will ask.

The translation itself:

I translate only to my native language and always do my research for specific terminology.
Accuracy? Yes. But when it comes to websites or marketing documents, I’d rather adapt the text to make it sound as if it were originally written in French than being literal.

Never skip quality assurance:

I always thoroughly review my translation with my secret recipe: consistency check, spell check and I have Word read the text aloud. (Well, I guess it’s not a secret anymore…)

As a writer in my native language, this is how I would describe my style

I am always striving to find the right words for your specific subject, your brand and for the specific media I am translating, be it a brochure, website, internal training, article, etc.
