For 12 years I designed and implemented human rights, conservation, and sustainable development projects with grassroots organizations in Latin America. For the last 15+ years, I have been a professional translator (English<>Spanish) for clients that include grantmaking foundations, think tanks, conservation NGOs, human rights and women’s rights groups, universities and educational institutions, and grassroots groups. My translation assignments cover the gamut: proposal requests/submissions, grant reports and budgets, websites, book chapters, articles, PowerPoint presentations, abstracts, reports, legal docs of all kinds, correspondence, blog posts, etc. I additionally provide transcription services in both languages of audio and audiovisual materials of movies, interviews, advocacy clips, etc. The main thematic foci of my consulting work are: human rights, indigenous rights, women’s rights, land and resource rights in Latin America, women’s rights, climate change, economic justice, sustainable forestry, micro-enterprise, and community development.
