About Me

I am a Sworn Translation (Traductora Jurada) offering certified and non certified translations

My career in translation began in 2010 after completing a 5-year degree in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Alicante and a postgraduate degree in new technologies applied to translation. Before becoming self-employed, three years working in house for a major translation company increased my knowledge of the translation market and gave me extensive practice in translation and in the use of translation software, with a positive impact in my translation speed and terminological consistency.

I have translated countless certificates, court orders, bank statements and other official documents for direct clients and companies for use in Spain and its consulates, courts, legal firms, local authorities, registry offices, etc.

Education and training materials

I love translating education and training materials (all the way from travel/information brochures and school resources to presentations, videos, user manuals, blog posts and white papers), for students of any age and companies such as Twig Education, the Centre for Creative Leadership and the Citizens Rights Project, as well as translation agencies and NGOs.

This is what motivates me to do my best work

Knowing that my translations make a clear difference to the lives of my clients -and their clients- by enabling them to obtain visas, access justice and education abroad, deal with their foreign assets and other international formalities, or otherwise learn and become a better version of themselves, be that at work or in their personal life.

This is how I continue my learning in my area of expertise

I undertake regular CPD related to my profession and specialisms. For example, I have done several courses about both common and civil law to increase my legal knowledge and ensure that my translations are always accurate and take into account the differences and similarities between the different legal systems involved (p. e., England and Wales, Scottish and Spanish legal systems).

My modus operandi for communicating with clients is

I listen carefully to my clients and ask questions which enable me to offer guidance and a service tailored to their needs and requirements. I always welcome my clients’ questions and take pride in helping people, within my abilities, even if sometimes that means I end up not doing the translation because there is an easier or more affordable workaround for the client.
