About Me

A little bit about me:

Holder of a Master’s degree in translation from the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation of the University of Mons, I provide high-quality services in my three working languages: French, English and Spanish.

I specialize in legal, business or literary matters, but my academic training has made me a versatile generalist translator and I am open to all kinds of texts. I am also a professional audio visual subtiler. I work mainly with Trados Studio 2021, and have proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Passionate with words and the meaning they convey, I am lucky to consider translating to be both a challenge and a pleasure. The skills I gained during my five years of academic training and my eclectic cultural background allow me to approach each mission with rigour, precision, and efficiency.

My modus operandi for communicating with clients is

to be as available as possible and to never hesitate to ask for precisions. Asking questions in order to deliver the best final product should not be considered as an admission of faillure.

This is how I solved a recent terminology, style, or linguistic challenge

I really link to get creative when confronted with a linguistic challenge. Here is a literary translation of a novel with its share of humour (one of the hardest challenge for translators):

Orignal
“You, my friend, will sadly not live to see that day. Such is the
fate of stepping-stones.”
“I’m no stone. Though . . . though I am as tough as one. As strong.”

Translation
« Mais toi, mon ami, tu n’auras malheureusement pas la chance
de le voir de tes yeux. C’est là le triste destin d’un marchepied. »
« Je suis pas un marchepied. Mais… mais je vais te marcher sur les pieds, ça oui. Parce que je suis meilleur. »
