I work mainly with e-commerce, but I specialise in food & beverage as well as literature & poetry.
Swedish is the primary Scandi language I work with, but occasionally, I also translate from Danish and Norwegian. Current language learning challenge: Finnish – your brain is never too old to learn something new.
As a writer in my native language, this is how I would describe my style
Creative, looking for precise terminology or out-of-the-box synonyms that catch the eye and attract the reader
This is how I continue my learning in my area of expertise
I am currently writing my third dissertation, after enrolling for a BA in Italian and Translation Studies from a Swedish perspective, while simultaneously taking courses in translation methods, content writing, and the like.
My professional methodology for a standard translation project is
Skim the source text, study the client’s ToV and additional info material, translate, leave the rough translation for at least 24h before going back to adjust and proofread and then deliver the final product before the deadline we had agreed upon with the client.
