I’ve always loved poetry! Writing and reading have always been my two passions, which, later when I met my other love, languages, turned into my professional aim. I’ve done some translations of songs in the past and a partial translation of a fiction booklet.
I graduated from university as a translator and a linguist a year ago. I studied Linguistics and IT (English and Spanish).
I’m mainly interested in poetry and literature, in which I have some experience already. I also enjoy translating generalized texts (that have little to no specific terms). I have some experience with humanitarian translation done for Translators Without Borders. And I’m always eager to learn more and get better at what I’m passionate about, and that is languages and translation.
I’m convinced that having an advanced level of two or more languages is not enough. A good translation requires an ability to understand and convey both the meaning and the emotions from the source language into the target language. I intend on doing just that.
I like working in a quiet and low-stress environment. I translate around 1500-2000 words a day, depending on the complexity of the text. I take my time (not too much, not too little) to do the best translation I can. I intend on meeting all of the client’s needs and requirements wherever possible. I appreciate regular feedback as it helps me improve along the way.
