What is your experience with translation?

My portfolio includes various projects in the video game localization field, from strategy games to match-3 games. I have also translated various webtoons, for a total of close to 700k words. Last but not least, my education makes me an optimal choice for all kinds of scientific translations.

You don’t hold a degree in translation… why should I trust you?

I understand that not having a formal degree in translation can be a red flag for some clients. However, I quickly grasped the key challenges of translation work and continuously honed my skills through hands-on experience. Since 2021, I’ve delivered high-quality translations to multiple clients, all of whom have been satisfied with my work.
My academic background in science, particularly in chemistry, has also shaped the way I work: with precision, rigor, and attention to detail. Spending four years studying in Scotland not only strengthened my command of English but also gave me a deep understanding of the nuances of both languages.

My professional methodology for a standard translation project is

I start by gaining an overview of the text as a whole, rather than sentence by sentence. This allows me to assess the overall tone, identify potential ambiguities, and better understand the context.
I translate the source text using the software of your choice, or memoQ, if you leave the choice to me. I pay close attention to style, consistency, terminology, character limitations if any, and non-translatable items (e.g., HTML code). If anything is unclear, I’ll reach out to you for clarification.
Once the draft is complete, I run it through Antidote, a trusted proofreading tool, to catch any spelling, grammar, or punctuation issues. After that, I proofread the whole file manually.
Finally, I run the software’s built-in QA check to spot issues like missing tags or double spaces.
