Experience as a medical translator
In my time as an in-house translator, I translated solely medical and pharmaceutical projects for different clients, learning different kinds of documents during that time. Ever since then it became my main specialization.
I translate since 2018 and had a brief spell as an in-house translator in 2020. Before being a linguist, I worked with copywriting and PR. My time as a translator led me to specialize in a few fields, such as:
Medical and pharmaceutical translations
Technical translations
Software and videogame localization
What can I do for you?
I can translate, proofread and copywrite in my fields of knowledge and other fields as well, I am tech savvy and can learn any field with ease, my power search skills help me get the best sources to provide you with a trustworthy work.
This is how I manage terminology consistency in my area of expertise
With the aid of MemoQ and Trados, I create and manage custom translation memories for each client I work with. This helps me use the correct terminology for each project.
When clients request literal translations, this is how I handle the situation
I explain why the literal translation might not work in the target language and tell them what it will sound like to a native speaker. If the client still wants a literal translation, I do it.
This is how I solved a recent communication challenge with a client
I always ask for every question I have about the project, and I always communicate if I have any issues throughout the project. If I feel I will need more time, I tell the client beforehand, if I have technical issues, I tell them, if I have questions about the project or terminology, I ask them. I never assume anything, I prefer to be sure of what I am doing.
