Having spent half my life in England and the other half in France, I’m fully proficient in both English and French. I’ve taught English as a foreign language in France and specialised in teaching English Literature.

Dedicated to facilitating communication between French and English speakers, I’ve worked in the language industry for over 20 years and recently founded Traduction Claire to offer my freelance services full-time.

My professional methodology for a standard translation project is

I’m not as fast as a machine, here’s why:

Step 1: I will read your text, prepare a draft translation and check specific terminology.
Step 2: I will ask you to clarify any ambiguities and confirm the purpose of your translation and your target audience.
Step 3: I will refine my draft translation accordingly.
Step 4: I will check my translation for spelling, punctuation or grammar slips.
Step 5: I will perform a bilingual review to check I have not missed, added or changed anything unnecessarily.
Step 6: I will read my translation aloud to check it sounds like it was written by a native and not like a translation.
Step 7: After taking time away from my translation, I will proofread it one last time to ensure it is perfect.
