About Me

I believe everything happens for a reason

As a child, I burst into tears one day watching starving children in a UNICEF raising-awareness TV spot. I told my mother: “We can’t leave them like that. We must do something”.

Today, as an English and Spanish to French freelance translator, I’m happy and proud to specialize in international development and humanitarian action.

I am a professional linguist fully dedicated to my area of specialization

I have more than 5-year experience translating for INGOs such as WaterAid, Sightsavers or the ICRC, as well as for various United Nations agencies including UNICEF, UNEP, UNFPA, UNDP and UNESCO.

My professional methodology for a standard translation project is

Becoming familiar with the document.
Researching the necessary documentation.
Making a first translation draft.
Looking for the right terminology.
Revising and polishing the translation.
Proofreading the text (spelling, grammar, typo, and formatting check).
Delivering the translated document.

This process may be adapted according to the characteristics of the document and the client’s requirements.

This is how I manage terminology consistency in my area of expertise

I create a termbase for each topic I work on, based on the documents I translate and/or the client’s own glossaries.
I carefully check terminology accuracy and consistency before delivering any translation.
I do not hesitate to ask questions to the client if I have any doubt.
