In my MA I specialized in Medical translation through some specific courses in English and Spanish. I am familiar with all the types of medical texts and had the chance to improve my hands-on experience thanks to a three-month training course on medical translation, where practical translation sessions, supervised by a senior translator, were included.
I have a double MA in Specialized Translation and I am the proud co-founder of a pro bono language services provider specialized in advocacy and human rights issues. I specialize in technical and scientific translation, but I have developed an interest for medical translation and localization as well. In my university years, I gained experience through localization, audiovisual translation, and technical translation internships, but I feel what made me grow the most has been co-founding a pro bono language services provider, for which I am still working as a translator, revisor, and project manager.
They say translators never stop learning, and keeping that in mind I have attended an online course on SEO training and writing for WordPress, as well as a Medical Translation training course, in order to get acquainted with this fascinating field. I also know my way around CAT tools, MTPE, terminology management systems and TMSs.
Content I translate -Technical documentation and product data sheets -Company websites -Clinical trials, medical devices user manuals, patient information leaflets, etc. -Advocacy reports -Promotional content
The perks of being my client I take my job very seriously, I am enthusiastic but also thorough and detail-oriented. Even though I do not have a lot of paid experience yet, I feel confident I am capable of being a committed and reliable professional, and a great team member with the mindset of a leader. The diverse experience that I have had so fare make me a curious, eager, and versatile professional with special attention to quality assurance.
I am an activist at heart, and I always think about the impact that my actions might have on the world around me. That is why translating in certain fields, such as advocacy, medical, or scientific gives me a sense of purpose, and the confidence that in a way I am actively participating in making our world a better place.
