Native English (GB) speaker in Edinburgh, United Kingdom
"Professional translation from a qualified native English speaker."
During my studies, I took a variety of courses on French and Italian language, literature and culture, specialising in history for two years. Over the course of my career, I am proud to have translated for several artistic and cultural institutions, from the Opéra National de Paris and the Musée Rodin to the PianoEchos festival. In this field, I want to ensure that my translations are informative and captivating, as I believe art and culture should be shared with as wide an audience as possible.
My lifelong love of languages drew me to study French and Italian at the University of Glasgow in my native Scotland. I also spent a year in Brussels studying translation at ISTI (Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes), and several months at the University of Genoa to improve my Italian. I graduated as a Master of Arts in 2016, and have been working as a full-time freelance translator ever since.
I enjoy the opportunity to work with a large variety of businesses around the world, and I love the challenge that researching a new topic presents. While it was languages that got me into translation, it is the insight into different facets of life and work around the world that keeps me going.
