About Me

Freelance translator English to Dutch and Flemish, and visa versa.

Already for more then 20 years I am working in a billingual environment.

Use both languages on a daily basis. ## Since 5 years i work as a freelancer and translate small and big projects.

I did optimization of machine translators
translating safety training courses for a manufacturer, E-> D.
transcribing/translating/annotation fr a commercial video from D->E.
translating/proofreading, editing children tv show and the belonging merchandise. For example the monthly magazines, the reading books, user guides toys an games, …

I am very meticulous because of this I am very focused on the smallest details. During proofreading I notice the smallest mistakes (typo, grammar) and I feel errors in the fluency.

DUTCH (NL) - DUTCH (BE, Flemish)

The spelling and grammer rules are identical. But in the spoken language we have a completrly different accent and some words and verbs are used differently.

I am able to adjust the tone and intent between Dutch and Flemish. Each have their specific localization. There are specific words we each use, typical phrases used, the use of idioms, …

My modus operandi for communicating with clients is

Always open and clear about received instructions. If I have doubts, I will contact the client to double check.

Keep him up to date of the progress, espe ially if it is. A project of a week or more.

So the client always know, in which stage the translation is. And there is no need to worry.

This is what motivates me to do my best work

I was always a meticulous person, always giving it my all. For me personal it is very important to hand back to the client a flawless tranlation.
