Work with Anders Haugen!

Hello!

My name is Anders and I am an avid Norwegian translator.

I have a long standing passion for languages, so I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. My academic background has given me a deep understanding of the fundamentals of languages, which I appreciate to this day. Over the course of the years I expanded on my academic background by doing a one-year course at the same university in French, a language that I had during my years back in the Norwegian equivalent of high school.

Later, I got accepted into a master’s program at Dublin City University, where I got my degree in Translation Studies. As a part of this degree I had French as the language I was working from, and had courses in French Economic Translation and French Technical Translation. I was working with English as the target language at the time.

I consider English and French as the languages that I work with, but as I am Norwegian, I can also work with Swedish and Danish, as the three Scandinavian languages are very similar and mostly mutually intelligible.

My primary interests in the translation environment are video game localization, as well as translation of other forms of media like subtitling movies and TV shows, as well as literary texts. However, I can work with many different types of texts if needed.
