About Me

Inclusive language expert specialising in sustainability

Coming from Poland, I have been living in Scotland for more than 12 years, where I completed my master’s degree in Translation Studies at the University of Glasgow. I also hold a master’s with honours degree in Spanish and Comparative Literature. This led me to spending a year in Barcelona where I built my Spanish fluency and embraced another culture.

In 2017, I started my freelance translation journey, but in 2019 I took a short break to spend six months in Luxembourg working for the European Parliament as a Polish translation trainee. My workload included translating parliamentary resolutions, reports on gender equality and other documents.

Soon after I came back to Glasgow, I established Polka Dot Translations. I believe that in order to meet my clients needs I need to constantly develop my skills – that’s why I am a proud Qualified Member of Institute of Translation and Interpreting and a Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Linguists.
