I have a first-level degree in Linguistics and foreign languages and I am currently attending a Master degree in Translation and International Relationships . I speak English and Spanish and my native tongue is Italian. I also know how to use cat tools such as OmegaT.

I have experienced legal, touristic, literary and websites translation during my studies and I am specializing in literary translation.

Alright… but… why me?

I strictly believe that words have the extraordinary power to share different ideas and perspectives about the world we live in. Words can destroy barriers and connect people and I am just fascinated to be part of this process.

I have recently tried and used Artificial Intelligence to help me with translation and I found out that instruments such as Chat GPT and Google Bard, for examples, can be very useful but have to be taken into consideration as the final step in our work. They sometimes offer better perspectives and solutions, when talking about linguistic choices. On the other hand, those neural networks are not likely to understand the context of the text we are trying to translate, offering wrong options as a result. Ultimately, what I think about AI within the filed of translation is that they represent an important help for us. However, in my personal opinion, nothing could ever substitute our human touch, our very own capacity to embrace and feel the text we are working with.
