There are many gamers that translate, but not as many I have worked in many titles during my career, but my greatest accomplishment so far has been Uncharted 4. As odd as it may sound, I also enjoy translating the general Terms and Conditions for games. Currently, besides translation and proofreading, I work in videogame LQAs as well.

About Me

My name is Alessandro Chmiel, I am a Professional Translator, and I offer localization services from English to Brazilian Portuguese. I have already had the pleasure to work with +260 games among other areas, thus I’m sure I could be a great asset to your linguistic crew.

I live in Porto Alegre, South of Brazil, and I have worked in the translation business since 2013. I have a Bachelor in Languages (UFRGS, 2011), a 9-term course focused on Localization. I own a Studio SDL Trados 2019 license, and I also have experience with the following CAT tools: XTM, Memsource, Crowdin, Smartling, Idiom, WordBee, memoQ, GlobalLink, Smartcat, and Polyglot. I am also familiar with Xbench, Transistor, JIRA, and MultiTerm softwares.

I am available during the week and also on weekends. Besides Translation, Edition, Proofing, and QA, I am also used to working with Post-Edition/Machine Translation, LQA, and LQE.

My modus operandi for communicating with clients is

constantly checking my email alerts to reply as quickly as possible. There’s nothing worst than waiting forever for a reply that might come days late.
