Patents can be a powerful business tool. They can develop a strong market position and earn additional revenue through licensing. Translating a patent requires an extreme attention to detail, a precise use of the terminology and possessing a wide knowledge of the conventions and ceremony. I have experience with a variety of them:
English to Spanish (ES) Translator in business since 2007!
Working mostly with technical translations, localization and subtitles.
I have a MA in Specialized and Audiovisual Translation from the University of Roehampton, London. I was awarded the Gerhard Weiler Prize for my thesis about respeaking. I must admit it was a great surprise, but I am glad some Spanish TV channels used it as a basis for improving the quality of live subtitles for deaf and hard of hearing people in Spain.
Here’s some experience I have:
over 1,5 million words translated for individual clients and SMBs
worked in teams localizing and QA testingvideo games and apps into Spanish from Spain
technical translations, SEO, UX writing and copywriting to reach the Spanish market
Also, I have participated in Translations Events and created some courses for translators:
BP21 Translation Conference in Spanish
MD Traducción de patentes
Content I usually work with
manuals and tutorials
Medical and pharmaceutical documents
education and marketing campaigns
subtitling of promotional videos for start-ups
