I teach translation and localization management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. I have an MA in Spanish to English translation from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

This is how I manage terminology consistency in my area of expertise

I curate subject area specific corpora that I monitor for terminology usage and change among subject matter experts. I store terminology records according to a structure that is compliant with Terminology Exchange standards by the International Organization for Standardization. (Plus, I help build those standards.)

My modus operandi for communicating with clients is

Chat, emoji, and inspirational memes. I don’t listen to voicemails - sorry not sorry!
