About Me

Hello,

My name is Abdelkarim Kassimi. I graduated in Translation and Interpreting (SPA; ARA; FRE;EN), and Information Science from the University of Granada (Spain). I am registered as a freelance translator and interpreter in Spain.

I also hold a Master’s Degree in IPL (International Public Law) and IR (International Relations), from the University of Granada (Spain).

I have significant work experience (more than 10 years) as a translator/reviser and conference interpreter in fields such as International Law, International Protection (relocation; family reunion), International Legal Cooperation, Public Affairs and International Organizations (UNDP, United Nations Development Programme, Warchild UK, EASO, European Commission).

I am a native speaker of Spanish, Arabic (including Moroccan dialect), and Berber (Tarifit, North-African dialect). My nationality is Moroccan, but I have been “raised” in a Spanish institute (Instituto Español Lope de Vega, Nador, Morocco), which allowed me to live in a multilingual environment since my childhood (including English and French).

I can use CAT tools (SDL Trados Studio 2019 and MemoQ), and I have experience handling large translation projects (more than 30,000 words).
