My name is Elia, I am a native Italian translator with 3 years’ experience in the video game localization and tourism translation sectors.
Specialization is key to be able to deliver top-notch quality translations.
My 2 specializations were decided upon childhood and recurrent passions and experiences, which were followed by intensive continuous professional development (CPD).
My professional goal is to help game developers and tourism businesses successfully engage with the Italian market: you need a flawless translation or localization to get and keep your target audience’s attention!
It is of utmost importance to invest in Italian translation if you consider entering the Italian market. People enjoy video game content in their own language way more than in English! And if you own a tourism business, do we even need to discuss how crucial it is for your website to read fluently while still being captivating?
If you need all this, look no further! Get in touch with me and I’ll be more than happy to talk about your projects and how we can port them to your Italian audience!
My professional methodology for a standard translation project is
First, I thoroughly read the document to get a solid grasp of the tone, the terminology, the flow, and the overall meaning.
After that, I start translating segments using the CAT tool memoQ (if and only if I am allowed!) to be consistent with the translation choices I make and to be fast with the whole project.
At any time, should I have doubts about the source text, I will promptly get in touch with you and ask you questions: to me, clear communication is crucial and the quality of my work can only benefit from it.
Of course, I will perform accurate researches if necessary.
After I finish off the first draft, I will carefully read through the translated text, make changes accordingly and fix typos, if any.
At that point, the translation is ready to be delivered to you: the deliverables will be decided when you first contact me.
This is how I continue my learning in my area of expertise
I think Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is one of the main occupations for a translator. The industry is dynamic, languages constantly change, and so do the industries I work in.
Because of that, I devote part of my working hours to expanding my knowledge and improving my professional skills. All this is achieved by attending live webinars, pre-recorded and on-demand courses, and by participating in discussions with fellow translators.
