"I always take my work and your translation needs seriously"
I help law firms and legal departments of SMEs accurately translate their documents. Recent project: hearing minutes (concerning an insolvency case), RO>EN, 20,000+ words, using MemoQ
Hi there! As a translator, the fields I work in are mainly legal, financial, and marketing, but depending on each individual project, I will occasionally accept work in other fields as well.
Before working as a translator, I gathered experience in journalism, entry-level programming (PHP, HTML, C++, CMS), and academic research (German and English history).
More about my background and qualifications:
Ø I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and German studies (including classes in translation theory and practice)
Ø I hold C2 language certificates for both English and German
Ø I am authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice to translate from and into English, German and Romanian (I have passed some very strict examinations for this)
Ø I have lived, worked and studied in Germany for five years
If you’re searching for someone who will work on your project until it’s perfect, and who is not afraid to ask questions to understand your business goals, you’ve come to the right place.
This is how I continue my learning in my area of expertise
CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is very important for me. I regularly read books and articles related to translation theory and practice. Even though the internet, and particularly translator groups, are filled with all kinds of tutorials related to the translation industry, I prefer the old-fashioned book to cater to my professional development needs. I also attend conferences and subscribe to the newsletters of various translator associations and industry stakeholders, to keep in touch with the latest developments in the field of translation.
